Presence: The Flow State and God's Manifestation in Reality

Have you ever felt that moment when everything just flows? When you're playing an instrument, and time seems to disappear? When you're playing a sport, and every movement happens in perfect rhythm, effortlessly, as if it were natural? That is the flow state. And more than just a psychological concept, it is the essence of presence.

Presence is not just a fancy term from the mindfulness world. It is the key to accessing fulfillment, God's grace, and reality in its purest form. The past and the future do not exist – they are merely projections of our minds. What truly exists is the now.

What Does It Mean to Be Present?

Being present means being aware of yourself, your body, your work, your businesses, your relationships, and the environment around you. No distractions, no thoughts drifting to what could have been or what is yet to come. When we allow ourselves to be in the now, we enter a state where creativity, productivity, and even spirituality intensify.

It is in this state that depression and anxiety lose their power. Depression is an excess of the past. Anxiety is an excess of the future. But when we are 100% immersed in the present, these ghosts have no space. Only the moment and our action in it exist.

The concept of flow, studied by psychologists like Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, describes that state where we are so engaged in an activity that everything flows naturally. The body acts, the mind responds, and time ceases to be a concern. This happens when we play an instrument, write a text, practice sports, or even when we are so immersed in work that we don’t notice the hours passing.

But what if I told you that this state is not just a mental trick, but a direct manifestation of God in our reality?

Presence as a Manifestation of God

The Bible teaches us that God is eternal, meaning He is not bound by time. The Holy Spirit operates in the present. When we are aware of the now, we are in tune with Christ, who said:

"Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself." – Matthew 6:34

What does this mean? That the Kingdom of God is in the now.

The Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – operates in presence, and when we are truly present, we allow God to act in our lives. God's grace can only be experienced in the present.

"I Am": The God of Full Presence

When Moses asked God for His name, He responded:

"I Am Who I Am." (Exodus 3:14)

This response is not just a name. It is an absolute affirmation of presence. God did not say "I was" or "I will be." He said, "I Am."

God is not limited by time. He is. And if we want to truly connect with Him, we need to be where He is: in the present.

God’s grace can only be experienced in the now. The Holy Spirit acts in the now. Christ calls us to live in the now. When we are trapped in the past or anxious about the future, we disconnect from God's reality.

Forgiveness and Guilt: Freedom for the Present

If the present is the only moment that truly exists, then why do we so often feel stuck in the past? The answer lies in guilt.

Guilt makes us relive what has already passed, carrying burdens that no longer belong to us. But God offers us a path to freedom: forgiveness.

Jesus made this clear when He taught that we must forgive seventy times seven (Matthew 18:22). Forgiveness is not just an act of kindness toward others – it is a gift to ourselves.

When we forgive, we let go of the need for punishment, of holding on to resentment, of clinging to what once was. Forgiveness frees us from the prison of the past and brings us back to the present, where we can finally breathe and live.

If God, who is perfect, chooses to forgive us, who are we not to forgive ourselves and others?

True forgiveness teaches us to accept the present moment as it is – without wishing the past had been different, without fearing the future. Just being.

How to Achieve This State?

If everything comes down to being present, the question is: how do we cultivate this in daily life?

  1. Breathing and Body Awareness

The body is the first to tell us if we are disconnected. Pay attention to your breathing. The simple act of breathing mindfully brings you back to the now.

  2. Focus on What You Are Doing Now

Multitasking is a myth. Do one thing at a time and do it well. This trains your mind to stay focused.

  3. Eliminate Distractions

Most things that pull you away from the present are created by your mind or the excess of external stimuli. Reduce the noise, simplify your environment, and focus on the essential.

  4. Seek God’s Presence

Praying, meditating on the Word, and cultivating a real connection with God put you in a state of grace and fulfillment. Remember: God speaks in the now.

  5. Find Your Flow State

Music, art, sports, writing – discover activities that connect you with yourself and with God. This is not just leisure; it is a way to truly be alive.

Conclusion: Live Now

Everything you seek – peace, productivity, creativity, spirituality – is in the present. The past no longer exists. The future has not yet arrived. The only real thing is what you do now.

Want to change your reality? Be present.

Want to feel God? Be present.

Want to live in fulfillment? Be present.

The flow state is not just a high-performance tool. It is a path to God.
